WIP: INQ28 The Chapel Warband, part 11

Another two henchmen for your viewing pleasure. Both are pretty straightforward and simple kitbashes. I continue with the same ostentatious and flamboyant style that I’ve established for this Warband.

Dokk is packing a Chainsword and a normal sword. First I tried to give him two Chainsword but he just ended up looking a bit unbalanced and over the top. The different blades gives him a better balance I think.

The other one is the Warband’s own Dandy – Rasmus Sixto. Gunslinger, bandit, plum lover. Hahaha. He makes me laugh. I have no idea how to make him grimdark. Heck, it will be hard to bring the grimdark to this Warband at all. It’s just too much Space Opera, don’t you agree?

Regardless, I need to painting soon.

That’s all for now.

  1. I think the flamboyance of the Rogue Traders makes for a stark contrast with the deprivation of the rest of the Imperium. If anything it serves to highlight the “grimdark”. After all the main reason they’re able to be so ostentatious is the wealth accrued by travelling outside the Imperium. Little did they know it but when the Emperor drove the first Rogue Trader houses out of the Imperium he was doing them a big favour.

Anyway, excellent kitbashes mate, this warband is continuing to impress me 🙂

    1. I guess you got a point there. I’ll use them a counter-point to my more grimdark and weirdhammer Horrors of the Undergrowth Warband. Embrace the extravaganza!

  2. Lovely job mate – don’t worry about the grim, nor the dark… embrace the finery, own the ostentation, and don’t be afraid to show the universe that you are fab-u-lous!

  3. Got to hit the mould lines on the chainsword, also not sure what the pose is meant to be. Something to think about.

Liking the dandy, the splash of muted colour will help the over all look.

    1. Thanks for the feedback. I will definitely clear those moldlines. I didn’t see them. The pose is, I don’t know, I thought it was ok.

  4. The war band is coming along nicely mate. Maybe you could use brighter colours on certain parts, like the feather and make a big deal out of his hat. Im sure he really likes his hat 🙂
